Islamic Academy of Youngstown School Dress Code and Uniform Policy 2024-2025

Kindergarten students are not required to wear formal uniforms. They may wear clean and appropriate play clothes paired with comfortable, non-marking tennis shoes. Please avoid clothes with hoods, logos, or wording. Shorts, tank tops, and sandals are not permitted. Uniforms can be conveniently purchased online from www.Walmart.com or www.H&M.com, offering a variety of options at affordable prices.

Girls School Uniform Mandate (Grades 1st – 3rd)

Daily School Wear

Solid navy blue or khaki jumpers
Solid navy blue or khaki pants to be worn under jumper (no leggings)
Solid long sleeve light blue, navy blue or white polo shirt, turtleneck, or button-down shirt with collar worn under jumper
Hijab is optional (solid color only – white navy gray or black)
Comfortable non-making dress shoes or tennis shoes
Solid Navy Blue or White Cardigans, vests or pullovers are optional for warmth
Prayer clothes

Gym Clothes-to be worn on PE days only

Solid navy-blue, black or gray athletic pants with or without white strips down the leg (no leggings)
Long sleeve white, light blue or navy-blue tee shirt or sweatshirt
Rubber soled, non-marking athletic shoes (any comfortable tennis shoe is permissible)

Girls School Uniform Mandate (Grades 4th – 5th)

Daily School Wear

Solid navy blue or khaki jumpers
Solid navy blue or khaki pants to be worn under jumper (no leggings)
Solid long sleeve light blue, navy blue or white polo shirt, turtleneck, or button-down shirt with collar worn under jumper
Comfortable non-making dress shoes or tennis shoes
Hijab – solid color gray, black, navy, white or off white (any style) Mandatory starting at 4^th grade

Jilbab or Abaya – solid color -dark gray, light gray, black or navy (not excessively long for safety reason).
Solid navy, black or khaki skirt – ankle length
